Fourth Tuesday
is a special time at The Greenshire Arts Consortium. The
launching for their monthly two-hour High Tea included a time
for pleasantries, dynamic discussions, a keynote speaker
and friendly service from the butler-in-residence: Jim Curley,
Director of Greenshire. The first treat in store for the 9 people
in attendance was being greeted at the door by Jim who was spiffed
up with tails and a huge smile, and who proceeded to take coats,
pour tea and serve refreshments. The Focus Speaker, artist Lesta
Bertoia, shared her inspirations and
creativity. As an adolescent Lesta worked
with her father, the internationally renowned sculptor, Harry
Bertoia, which was introduction enough
to inspire her to explore her own creativity. I am drawn
toward portraying the relationship of humans, cultures, nature
and spirit. It is with love for lifes many dimensions that
I offer my art into the homes of those who resonate with my visions
during these exceptional times. The savory delectables,
catered by Elizabeth Stross, friend of Greenshire, included an
assortment of tea sandwiches, raspberry torte, vanilla custard
and carrot cake. This event was a prelude to Greenshires
Spring Art Exhibition, entitled Awakening the Best
opening on April 13.
