The Greenshire School
Inspiring Wholeness through Education

The Greenshire School offers a holistic approach to education by providing an integrative program of the sciences, humanities, arts and living skills. The school’s excellence in the academics fosters creativity and individuality in each student, encouraging them to explore and embrace their inherent talents and abilities. It is the Greenshire School’s mission to prepare students to live confident and inspired lives as responsible stewards of Self, Community and Planet.

Sarah FenleyAs a holistic health coach, Sarah Fenley explores with you how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole, from food and exercise to career and relationships. She discusses concerns specific to you and your body and helps you discover the tools you need for a lifetime of balance. Sarah emphasizes that food is only part of the total picture of wellness. It is possible to eat all the broccoli and kale in the world and still be unhealthy if you're under too much stress at work, don't have enough “vitamin L” (love) in your life, or have lost touch with your creativity or spirituality.

Have you tried to lose weight? Improve your diet? Exercise more? Or make lifestyle changes? Have you found it difficult to succeed on your own? Most people need guidance and support to reach their goals, particularly when it comes to health and wellness. It's easy to get excited about a new diet or exercise program, but sometimes challenging to sustain that excitement as the weeks go by. A health coach can help break that cycle by providing ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness – for a lifetime.

Sarah coaches individuals and facilitates workshops with a passion for helping people rediscover and satisfy their hunger for a healthy, authentic and joyful life. Her holistic approach to health and wellness takes into account how all areas of our lives are interconnected, from stress that makes us overeat to a low energy level that prevents us from fully engaging with friends and family. Through individual coaching sessions and group workshops, Sarah serves as a guide for her people to reach their goals. Based on the concept of bio-individuality, Sarah supports individuals to make positive changes based on their unique needs, preferences, backgrounds and lifestyles. Whether clients are struggling with weight gain or body image issues, illness, fatigue, digestive issues, or a general feeling of imbalance, Sarah looks at the whole picture to help each person restore a sense of harmony to their inner and outer lives.

Sarah received her training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC. The Institute's unique approach provides graduates with comprehensive knowledge of traditional and contemporary dietary theories, lifestyle management techniques, and professional coaching methods.

“A Personal 2012 Make-Over” is a series of innovative workshops that Sarah will be presenting in January.

Greenshire’s Healthy Living Conference

Nurturing a Healthier You

October 1, 2011, 9am – 3:30pm

Imagine gathering together a group of health experts, and then having them talk about what you want them to talk about — how great would that be! As incredible as that sounds, you are about to have that very opportunity…

Daniel SperryDaniel Sperry is a cellist performing house concerts all over the United States, combining his cello music with a love for poetry, the two working together to create a deeply moving, heartfelt show that inspires and relaxes. He will be performing at Greenshire Arts Consortium in Quakertown, PA, on July 22, Friday evening, 7:30 pm.

Daniel Sperry is a cellist on a mission: a self-styled composer and troubadour, he is traveling from coast to coast to share his readings on poems by Rumi, Mary Oliver and others, as well as original musical portraits he creates to evoke the essence of individuals he meets along the way.

At precisely 7:33 during the summer solstice sunset, a light beam shines through a rock archway which was made several years prior to us discovering this phenomenon. If it's cloudy, the clouds always seem to part. And somehow, the beam breaks throuh the dense forest foilage to make its miraculous appearance. We've photographed this three years in a row (see below), and we anticipate another show in 2012. Mark this event on your calendar, and let's celebrate together!

Julia and DavidThe treasure of David and Julia’s workshops is discovering how to live life from the heart. Whether it is being immersed in the energies of their May workshop, Dreaming a New Vision of our Earth, or exploring how to Awaken through Relationship in their June weekend immersion, they emphasize that the heart is the epicenter, the gateway to the soul.

StephenReddingOn the Spring Equinox, Sunday, March 20, 2pm, the author of Something More and the recently published More Or Less takes us on a journey of our Earthly connection and multiple realities, and helps us to allow More into our lives and to realize our importance in this world.

Stephen Redding will greet us with a new worldview of his perception of life, implying both intention and destiny. This unique perspective has been in large extracted from his multiple near-death experiences. Equally important to Stephen’s message is his unique regard and love of this, our world of existence: “…into which we have been gifted and from which we may bloom.”

During the last week of September, Greenshire hosted Akuyoe Graham, a California-based artist, poet, writer, actor. This was a time filled with events geared toward the youth of our greater community. Students, educators, and community members were privileged to experience Akuyoe as she guided young people in discovering their voice through sharing and writing.

Matthew Tousignant, M.A., CMT and Breema Instructor, comes to Greenshire to facilitate one-on-one workshops. The Breema practices guide individuals in transforming conditioned, self-limiting physical, emotional, and mental patterns, thereby enhancing overall health. Each person, in their own private session, will learn practices to live a more balanced life, and take an active role in their own healing and self-development.

Greenshire will be breaking ground this month to remodel the building to accommodate handicap accessibility. This will include enlarging the porch area, and creating a new outside stairway, handicap ramp and a downstairs bathroom. After this first portion of the remodeling project is completed, successive remodeling stages include: creating a Grand Entrance and new reception area, as well as constructing a new staircase. The stairs that are presently in the center of the building will be removed, thus allowing for a much-needed Great Room.
